Transformational Leadership

Today’s healthcare environment requires innovative thinking. Jackson nurses are empowered to think outside the box and drive transformational change. As a result, Jackson Health System remains strong and well positioned for the future.

Nursing Strategic Plan

The inaugural Jackson Health System Nursing Strategic Planning session was held in September 2021. The future trends in nursing anticipated by the year 2030 were discussed and a framework for the systemwide nursing strategic plan was developed. Leadership and Resilience During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Every nurse is a leader.

Jackson has been treating COVID-19-positive patients for more than two years. Our nurses have carried the tremendous weight of this pandemic as they care for people with and without the virus, while also worrying about their own health and safety.

Despite our ongoing battle against COVID, our nurses have continued to help treat our community’s sickest and neediest patients, contributing to some of Jackson’s greatest accomplishments despite battling a global health crisis:

  • Jackson nurses worked around the clock at several locations throughout Miami-Dade County to help administer COVID vaccines, vaccinating nearly 180,000 people throughout the course of the health system’s community vaccination program.
  • Our Miami Transplant Institute nursing teams continued working alongside our world-class transplant surgeons to help those in need of new organs get a second chance at life. The center performed more than 600 transplants in 2021, making it one of the best transplant programs in the world, despite dealing with the challenges brought on by the pandemic.
